Good Samaritan

Wednesday, May 2, 2007

WITH ALL the sadness and heartache in the world today, I wanted to share an experience that I had recently that lifted my heart.

I went to a convenience store to fill up my car with gas because I was sitting on empty. The lady let me know that I needed to pre-pay for the gas because they had been having trouble with people filling up their tanks and not paying. I gave the lady my debit card and proceeded to fill my tank

When I went in to sign for the payment, my debit card wouldn’t work. I was sick because I had already filled my tank! Another lady offered to pay for my gas. I agreed to let her do it, since I didn’t have any other options. I asked for her name and phone number so I could pay her back — she wasn’t going to let me pay her back!

This woman, who didn’t even know me at all, was willing to do this for me. I finally talked her into giving me her business card so I could repay her. I want others to know that there is goodness in the world and that Peggy Arthur is a true good Samaritan. Thanks, Peggy!

That is a wonderful thing to do for a total stranger!

I know a lady who has used her money to buy groceries for people who weren't able to buy any for themselves. Once she paid the mortgage for a person had their identity stolen. She is a true gem in this world.

I'm sure there are more stories of good samaritans out there. It sure would be nice to hear of them.

Angela, kudos to you for making known your story.
