Wonderful evening

THOSE OF US who attended the senior citizen prom on April 19 cannot begin to thank the student athletes who shared the evening with us. We had so much fun with them.
One young man asked me to dance, and when I told him I wasn’t a good dancer, he said, “Well I can’t dance at all.” So, I taught him the two-step. When I told DeAndre Townsend that I couldn’t dance, he said, “I just rock.” So we rocked.
It was such a special night for all of us. We cannot begin to thank everyone who organized the event — the Emporia Senior Center staff and the Emporia State Student Athlete Advisory Committee did most of the planning, but others provided corsages, transportation and food.
We’re already looking forward to next year.
