A Melvern woman was one of four Kansans who won “Cool Cars” this week in a Kansas Lottery drawing to wrap up a months-long scratch-ticket promotion.
The prizes were golf cars made by Swartz Motorsports of Strong City. The golf cars were replicas of four classics, a 1947 Chevy Street Rod pickup, a 1957 Chevy BleAir, a 1965 Ford Mustang, and a 2005 Hummer2.
The grand-prize winners, in order drawn, are: Shirletta Amerin of Plains, Norris Hoobler of Maple Hill, John Hageman of Haysville, and Adeana Orear of Melvern. Amerin will have first choice of the four, Hoobler will have second pick, and Hageman will make the third choice.
In addition to the custom golf car, each grand prize winner will receive a towing trailer and accessories. The Lottery will pay the mandatory federal and state income withholding taxes.
The winners became eligible by mailing in non-winning Cool Cars instant scratch tickets. More than 31,000 non-winning entries were received.
Cool Cars was one of the Lottery’s “Made in Kansas” games, which offer Kansas-made products or Kansas-themed attractions and events as grand prizes.
