Jeff R. Tubach, 32, of Cottonwood Falls was injured in a one-vehicle accident shortly after 6:30 a.m. Thursday eight miles north of Strong City.
Tubach was taken to Morris County Hospital for treatment and was transferred to Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan. He was reported in good condition there this morning, according to a hospital spokesperson.
According to information from the Kansas Highway Patrol, Tubach was driving a 2004 Sterling semi-tractor trailer northbound on Highway 177 when he apparently fell asleep. The semi went off the roadway and rode the guardrail for about 124 feet before going through a ditch and a fence and coming to rest in a field. The semi had overturned onto the driver’s side about 150 feet west of the highway.
