Orders are being taken this week at two Emporia churches for the April “Angel Food” distribution. Participation is open to the public, without income requirements. The program offers $65 to $75 worth of fresh or refrigerated brand-name products for $25 per box. All $25 boxes contain the same items, and four “bonus” boxes of meats or coffee are offered at lower prices with the purchase of a $25 order.
Pickups at both sites must be made on April 14.
At the Emporia Church of the Nazarene, orders will be taken at the Potter/Beath Activity Center 2931 West 24th Ave., from 2 to 6 p.m. today, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and from 2 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. All orders must be paid for in advance. Cash, money orders and food stamps are accepted; personal checks are not.
Order times at the Emporia Presbyterian Church, 802 Commercial St., are from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. To order, enter the church on the Eighth Avenue side or take the elevator on the north side of the church.
