Recreation
Soccer registration forms are available at the Americus City Hall and at the Americus Elementary School. Forms will be accepted until the rosters are filled. Soccer games will begin April 9 and end with a tournament on Saturday, April 29.
T-ball and softball registration forms will be available at the end of March.
Baseball registrations are being accepted until the rosters are full.
There is currently an open position on the Americus Recreation Organization Board. Interested residents may contact any ARO member for information. They are Marcia Johnson, Tim Delcamp, Melissa Rich and Denise King.
Americus Days
The next Americus Days committee meeting will be April 17, 6:30 p.m., in the Presbyterian Annex. Everyone is welcome to attend and contribute ideas and suggestions. For information, call Linda Houston, (620) 443-5050.
Post office parking
The public no longer has access to the driveway and parking lot behind the post office, effective immediately. Postal regulations and insurance mandates made the change necessary.
Signs are on order and will be installed in the near future.
Recycling trailer
The recycling trailer will on the south side of the grade school today, April 3 and April 17.
Antique power
Gary Watts, Raymond Van Sickle, Raymond Fowler and Dale Curry drove antique tractors in Saturday’s St. Patrick's Day parade in Emporia.
