The Emporia High boys basketball team landed three players on the All-Centennial League team that was announced this week.
Junior sharpshooter Caydrick Bloomquist was the Spartans’ lone first-teamer, joining Player of the Year Lamont Austin of Highland Park, Jackie Carmichael of Manhattan, Andrew Taylor of Hayden, Kyle Weems of Highland Park and Chris White-Ready of Topeka High on the league’s first team.
Sophomore guard Taylor Euler picked up second-team honors, while senior guard Kyle deBlonk was an honorable-mention selection.
Austin and Carmichael were named the league’s Co-Defensive Players of the Year, while Highland Park coach Ken Darting, who led his team to an undefeated season and a Class 5A State title, was named the Centennial League’s top coach.

SCC’s Brooks named first-team All-League
Southern Coffey County’s Hannah Brooks was a unanimous selection to the All-Three Rivers League first team announced this week.
Brooks was joined on the first team by teammate Casie Combs, while Mission Valley’s Jill Hartman also picked up first-team honors.
Honorable-mention selections went to Jodie Sager, Susan McWhirter and Jenna Mann of Mission Valley and Kaitlin Meyer and Shelby Birk of Southern Coffey County.
