Two Emporia High girls basketball players were honored with second-team All-Centennial League honors this week.
Senior Jessica Muckenthaler, who finished as the Lady Spartans’ leader in steals (69), and junior Nicole Naab, who led EHS in scoring for the second consecutive year (11.6 ppg), each were named to the league’s second team.
Muckenthaler also was named to the All-Defensive team thanks to her propensity to pick opponents’ pockets.
Senior Rachael Bachman earned All-League honors as an honorable-mention selection.
Seaman’s Aubree Gustin was named the league MVP, Washburn Rural’s Alexa Bordewick earned the Newcomer of the Year award, Seaman’s Breanna Lewis was chosen as the Defensive Player of the Year and Junction City’s Justin Hoover was named Coach of the Year.
