Tuesday, March 13, 2007
Lyon County Democrats were among those who heard former President Bill Clinton speak in Topeka on March 2.
Clinton, speaking to more than 1,500 Kansas Democrats, emphasized that Kansas was in a good position to lead the nation in dealing with the challenges of energy, health care, and the economy. He noted progress in these areas would require bi-partisan participation.
Other speakers during the two-day Kansas Democratic Party Washington Days included Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, Lt. Gov. Mark Parkinson and Attorney General Paul Morrison.
Those from Lyon County who attended were Virgina Cunningham, Alan Rees, Lillian Rhodes, Stan, Barbara, and Kelsey Fowler, James and Gayelynn Wolf Bordenaro, Robert Grover, Susan Fowler, Mel and Donna Storm, Jerry and Sharon Karr, all of Emporia, and Frank and Olga Unruh of Americus.
