Blood drive today
The Chase County American Red Cross blood drive will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. today at the Chase County High School. Call 800-GIVE LIFE for an appointment. Walk-in donors are welcome; however, those with appointments will be given priority.
Martins have arrived
Allen Throm of 3514 W. 22nd Ave. reported Friday that three pairs of purple martins have roosted at his home near the high school. Throm said he got his martin house ready for occupants earlier in the week. His wife, he said, knew the martins would be arriving soon.
Neosho Rapids City Council
The Neosho Rapids City Council meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the City Community Building.
Children’s museum
An organizational meeting to discuss the possibility of creating a children’s museum will be held on March 20, at the Emporia Public Library. The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m.
