These meals will be served next week in Emporia’s public schools:
BREAKFAST
Monday: blueberry scone or cereal and muffin.
Tuesday: biscuit and gravy or cereal and graham cookie.
Wednesday: cereal and graham cookie or Pop Tarts.
Thursday: No school.
Friday: No school.
LUNCH
Monday: chicken patty on a bun, seasoned fries, baby carrots and dip, pears.
Tuesday: Frito-chili pie, corn chips, tossed salad, peaches.
Wednesday: cheese pizza, vegetable bites and dip, applesauce, speacil cookie.
Thursday: No school.
Friday: No school.
Breakfast is served with juice and milk. Lunch is served with milk.
Friendship Meals
EMPORIA
Friendship meals are served at noon at the Emporia Senior Center, 603 E. 12th Ave. Reservations should be made one day in advance by calling the Senior Center, 343-3160, between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. For home-delivered meals, call 340-8001.
These meals will be served next week:
Monday: ham, potatoes O’Brien, vegetable salad, rye bread, peaches.
Tuesday: spaghetti with meat sauce, italian vegetables, texas toast, plums.
Wednesday: scalloped chicken, broccoli, wheat roll, cherry fluff.
Thursday: swiss steak, baked potato, pea salad, wheat bread, pears.
Friday: fish, macaroni and cheese, winter-mix vegetables, bread, gelatin with applesauce.
NORTH LYON COUNTY
Friendship meals are served at noon at: The Americus Senior Center, 516 Locust St., (620) 443-5352 and the North Lyon County Senior Center at Allen, (620) 528-3414; Reading residents who want meals can call the North Lyon County Senior Center.
Reservations should be made by phone one day in advance.
These meals will be served next week.
Monday: chili with beans, carrot and celery sticks, cornbread, cinnamon roll, apricots.
Tuesday: barbecue country-style ribs, lyonnaise potatoes, cauliflower, bread, fluffy fruit salad.
Wednesday: roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, confetti coleslaw, hot roll, mandarin oranges.
Thursday: oven-fried chicken, candied sweet potatoes, lettuce and tomato salad, wheat bread, ambrosia fruit salad.
Friday: corned beef, boiled potatoes, cabbage, rye bread, peaches.
