Town Crier selling Flint Hills issue
The Town Crier bookstore will get copies of April’s National Geographic later this month, an issue that includes a 22-page story on the Flint Hills.
The issues will arrive at the store, 716 Commercial St., during the last week of March. Anyone who would like one held may call the store at 343-9649.
The story includes pictures by Lindsborg photographer Jim Richardson, who first pitched the story to National Geographic two years ago.
The Flint Hills contains most of what’s left of the tallgrass prairie, an ecosystem that once stretched from northern Texas to Manitoba, Canada. Less than 5 percent of the nation’s prairie remains.
