Biscuits and gravy
The Americus Masonic Lodge members will serve biscuits and gravy, coffee or juice, Saturday morning, March 10, 7 to 10 a.m. Two biscuits will cost $3 and 1 biscuit will cost $2.
The money raised will be used for operating funds for the lodge.

Americus sesquicentennial birthday
The Americus sesquicentennial celebration begins at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Americus School cafeteria.
The Americus Middle School choir, directed by Mr. Ely Wells, will sing “Home on the Range” and “Happy Birthday”. The choir is composed of 26 sixth, seventh and eighth-graders.
After the Americus Seat presentation by Roy Gatewood, Lendi Grimsley Bland, Joel Grimsley Bland, Sam Bland, Bob Edmiston, Claude Roswrum, Melba Roswurm, Melissa Rich, Taylor Rich, and Belle Grimsley, the Rev. Bud Tuxhorn from the Methodist Church will sing two songs.
William Grimsley, Sr., one of the original founders of the Americus Town Company, will be represented by fifth generation descendants, Roy Gatewood and Lendi Bland, and sixth generation descendants, Joel and Sam Bland.
Kim Holcomb from the Lyon County Historical Museum will have games for kids.
Commemorative T-shirts will be for sale.
There will be a table to leave messages for the next celebration, and antique cars will be on display, weather permitting.
Birthday cake and ice-cream will be served by the Americus Chamber of Commerce.
House numbers Ordinance No. 500
Residences and businesses need to have numbers affixed to them indicating the physical address of the structure.
Numbers shall be a minimum of 4-inches in height and visible from the street frontage.
Numbers are available in the city office.
Americus Days meeting
The next Americus Days meeting will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, at the Presbyterian Annex, 561 Broadway. For information contact Linda Houston.
