ESU falls in semifinals of MIAA Tournament

Michelle Stueve had 17 points for ESU. Carolyn Dorsey added 14.
Washburn took its largest lead of the first half after a Corkey Stiger 3-pointer made it 35-24 with 2:32 left.
Stueve answered with two consecutive threes of her own, cutting the deficit to 37-32 before a Stiger stepback trey gave the Lady Blues their 40-32 halftime advantage.
Led by three points from Dorsey, ESU used a 7-0 run to a 12-point WU lead to 50-45 with 11:55 left in the game.
WU responded with its own 7-0 spurt, pushing the lead back to 57-45 with 9:49 remaining.
The Lady Hornets never got the deficit under seven after that.
