Charles Roemer of Boy Scout Troop 152 will receive his Eagle Scout Award at 3 p.m. Sunday at the First United Methodist Church.
Charles began his Scouting experience with Cub Scout Pack 165, sponsored by the Grace United Methodist Church, where he received his Arrow of Light Award. He crossed over to Boy Scout Troop 165 where he rose to the rank of Life Scout. He completed the requirements for the rank of Eagle Scout with Troop 152.
His Eagle project included the design and construction of cabinets and storage shelves for the Emporia High School theater department. He completed this project with the help of his family, troop and fellow thespians.
During his years of Scouting he attended many campouts including summer camp at Camp Jayhawk Kansas, Ben Delatour Company, Camp Cedars, Neb., and Camp Orr, Ark, where he earned the “50 miler” award. He is also a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow.
Charles, a senior at Emporia High School, is the son of Kenneth and Dana Roemer and the grandson of Charles and Jean Hollern of Emporia and Reece and Delores Roemer of Healy.
