A Dolly Madison employee from Olpe has won $10,000 in the Kansas Lottery.
Juanita Brown, 44, won the prize on a $2 Uno instant ticket — with her mother’s help.
“My mother actually bought the Uno ticket because the store was out of the Bonus Crossword tickets we usually play,” Brown told the Kansas Lottery. “She went ahead and scratched the Uno ticket and just about had a heart attack when she saw it was a $10,000 winner.”
Brown has worked at Dolly for 23 years. Her husband, Gary, also works there in shipping.
“I’m going to invest some of the money and also help my mom, who is widowed, with some things she needs,” she told the lottery.
Her ticket was purchased at Murphy Oil Company in Olpe.
