Brown Bag
There will be no Brown Bag Concert on July 4. Instead, Emporia’s 150th anniversary celebration is featuring a parade, street festival and other activities during the day and evening. On July 11, the Brown Bag Concert will present “Emporia Idol,” local singers competing for prizes. To register, call 340-6462.
The Studio 2B Folklore Dancers and More will entertain on July 18; Bongo Barry will perform on July 25.
The performance will be held in the library courtyard and is free. In the event of rain or extreme heat, the show will move inside the library. Seating is limited, so audience members may want to bring their own chairs.
The concert starts at noon and ends at 1 p.m. Lunch items and snacks will be sold by the Dog Gone Brothers and the Sweet Granada. Hot dogs and sausage sandwiches, nachos, root beer and water will be for sale, along with sweet treats.
