The Emporia Legion AAAs’ doubleheader against Piper Wednesday night fell victim to the elements, as the two games were canceled during the second inning of Game One because of rain.
At the time, the AAAs were trailing Piper 2-1, but the score does not count because the game did not last enough innings.
The next action for Emporia will be this weekend at the Bartlesville Tournament, which begins Friday and runs through Monday.
On the schedule for tonight is the Legion A-15s’ doubleheader against the Topeka Senators starting at 6 p.m. However, those games are in danger of being rained out as well thanks to the more than two inches of rain that has fallen in Emporia over the last 24 hours.
