• Lindsey Hollond, who was named the top all-around performer at the Kansas High School Rodeo State championships
• Runners Skyler Delmott and Amy VanGundy, who won the Madison Days 8K race.
• The Emporia school district, which received a $583,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Education for a Foreign Language Assistance Program. Patricia Smiley and Carolyn Koch wrote the grant application.
• Janice DeBauge, who served eight years on the Kansas Board of Regents.
