Energy U-16s go 1-3
Team picks up win in 18-and-under competition

The Emporia Energy U-16s went 1-3 over the weekend playing in the 18-and-under Emporia Tournament at Trusler Sports Complex.
The Energy’s only win came in its second game, as it topped the Sedan Heat, 4-1. Cassandra Huth picked up the win in the circle, while Lacie Schumann contributed two doubles and a single.
Sammie Gumfory also added a two-run single.
Emporia started the tournament with a 10-2 loss to the Topeka Pride. Katie Weaver and Lydia Roemer posted two hits each.
The Energy dropped its final two games to the SEK Slingers (6-4) and also the Shenanigans (2-1).
The 16s will be on the road this weekend, playing Sub-State at Garnett.
