Start training now. It’s almost time to sign up for the Corporate Challenge.
Team rosters for the challenge, Emporia’s “Corporate Olympics,” are available now at the Lee Beran Recreation Center. The deadline to enter a team is July 20 and the games will run Aug. 12 through Aug. 24.
Each company or organization may enter two teams of 15 people each, but everyone on the roster must be 18 years old and an employee. Companies with small numbers of employees have been able to use spouses as well if they get permission from the Emporia Recreation Commission.
The entry fee is $125. All entrants get T-shirts. Teams may enter in either a “fun” or “competitive” division.
The events this year will be:
• Aug. 12 — Bowling at Flint Hills Lanes
• Aug. 13 — Canoe race at Hopkins Lake
• Aug. 14 — Putt-putt golf at the Emporia Family Fun Center
• Aug. 15 — Adventure race at Peter Pan Park
