Vernon retiring
The retirement reception for office manager Sharon Vernon of the Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Trusler Business Center. Food and beverages will be provided. Vernon’s last day is Wednesday.
Vernon has worked for the chamber for about nine years. Vanda Hall will take over the position Thursday, leaving her old job as administrative assistant for the Convention and Visitors Bureau. A replacement for Hall has not been announced by the CVB.
