GIRL SCOUTS taught me years ago once a project is planned, no matter the weather, proceed! Thus, all decided the Hand and Hand Hospice Home tour was a go on that fateful torrential downpour day of May 6.
Surprisingly, more than 125 people showed to tour four of Emporia’s niftiest homes and meet some of the most patient, gracious and generous homeowners in town. The volunteers, including those for the repeat performances on May 12, were many and greatly appreciated. Emporia’s media was a huge help as well!
Close to $1,800 was gained for a very special non-profit organization. Thanks to all who attended and helped in any way to make this event a success under adverse conditions.
