Emporian Fletcher Harder shot a 74 Tuesday to win the boys division at the Trusted Choice Big “I” Junior Classic qualifying tournament at Western Hills Golf Course in Topeka.
Harder’s 74 was one shot better than Topeka’s Ben Moser, who finished with a 75. Tecumseh’s Tyler Harper took third with a 76.
The top players in the field advance to the Big “I” state finals set for July 12-13 at Hesston Golf Park in Hesston. The top two boys and girls in the state finals will advance to the national finals July 28-Aug. 2 in Boise, Idaho.
Harder placed third in the Class 5A Tournament last month, shooting a 5-over 77 at the Auburn Hills Golf Course in Wichita to help Emporia High to a runner-up finish.
