Dunlap High reunion
Lena Hobble Young will be a special guest at the Dunlap High School reunion on Saturday at Council Grove. Young said she is the “last living mother” of the class of 1956 and will attend with her son, Kenneth Hobble (class of 1956) of Plano, Texas.
The reunion will be at the American Legion in Council Grove, beginning at 5 p.m., and all former students, teachers and friends of the high school are invited to attend.
Tryout reminder
The Community Theatre of Emporia is holding auditions for its children’s and adults’ summer shows at 6:45 p.m. Thursday and 6 p.m. Friday at the Lee Beran Recreation Center, 313 W. Fourth Ave. The children’s show this year is an adaptation of “Puss in Boots” written by Scott Rochat. The adults will perform a condensed version of William Shakespeare’s “The Taming of the Shrew.”
The shows will be part of the CTE’s Mid Summer Fair in August.
Girls ‘Got Money’
All girls ages 11-17 are invited to learn about budgeting, saving and investing money from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 15 at Room 247 the ESU Science Hall.
Girls may earn the “Got Money” Girl Scout Studio 2B Charm.

Municipal band concert
The Emporia Municipal Band will give its weekly free concert at 8 p.m. Thursday at Fremont Park, Fourth Avenue and Union Street. The theme for this week’s concert is “World Tour.”

Republican women
The regular monthly meeting of Lyon County Republican Women will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Emporia Public Library.
The program will be presented by City Manager Matt Zimmerman. Visitors are welcome.
Volunteers and board members to be honored
The Friends of Family Life Services Pregnancy Center plans to honor past board members and volunteers who have served over the past 20 years.
The 20th anniversary celebration will be during the annual Walk for Life on June 23, 2007. The walk will begin at 615 Congress St., the new home for the Pregnancy Center and new ministry, Shiloh Home of Hope for Women.

Nominations for FSA county committees will be accepted through Aug. 1. Almost anyone of voting age participating or cooperating in an agency program is eligible to be a candidate.
