The Emporia Energy U-16 softball team went 2-2 and finished in third place in its Emporia Tournament last weekend.
Emporia won its first two games of the weekend before dropping the final two.
The Energy opened with a 3-0 victory over the Kansas Kaos, with Cassandra Huth picking up the shutout win in the circle.
Lexi Hileman gave Emporia the lead with a two-run double in the first, and Lacie Schumann added two singles and an RBI.
In Game Two, Emporia defeated the Manhattan Renegades 13-1. Hannah Lynch was the winning pitcher, and the Energy took advantage of 11 walks in the easy victory.
The Energy fell in its third game, 5-2, to the Manhattan Bullets. Schumann had two hits and an RBI, and Sam Torres contributed a single and RBI in the loss.
Emporia lost its final game, 5-1, to the Salina Lightning. Schumann posted a double and RBI to score the only Energy run.
Schumann led all Emporia hitters, going 6-for-11 in the tournament.
The U-16s will play again at home this weekend.
