Teacher appreciation
The Emporia Staples store at 2200 Industrial Road will take part in a nationwide Teacher Appreciation Day on Saturday, according to a news release from the company.
The first 200 teachers who visit Staples that day will receive a polybinder containing a legal pad, paper clips, highlighters and index flags, other back-to-school accessories and discount coupons.
The release stated that teachers also will be able to enroll their schools in Recycle for Education, which has raised more than $2 million for schools nationwide. Staples donates $3 for every eligible ink or laser toner cartridge collected as part of the program.
The company also sponsors a program that returns 5 percent in rewards when teachers spend $200 or more in a calendar quarter. Until Sept. 15, every $1 Rewards members spend will count as $2 toward rewards. The program also returns 20 percent in copy and print center purchases, up to $200 per quarter.
