Hollond 1st in poles
after initial go-round
After the first go-round, Emporian Lindsey Hollond sits in first place in the pole bending competition at the National High School Rodeo Championships in Springfield, Ill.
Her time of 20.072 seconds puts her above 164 other competitors in the event.
Hollond also is 46th in barrel racing (17.181 seconds) and is tied for ninth in the All-Around Cowgirl competition (200 points).
The second go-round begins today and runs through Saturday.
AAAs begin play in
Zone Tourney tonight
The Emporia AAAs will begin postseason play tonight, taking on El Dorado at 7:30 p.m. in El Dorado.
Manhattan and Junction City are the other two teams in the four-team Zone.
The winner of the double-elimination tournament will advance to State.
