Three Emporia State baseball players have been selected as All Stars in the Kansas City-based Ban Johnson summer wood bat league.
Chosen for the honor were Emporia High graduate Anthony Markowitz, third base; graduating senior Billy Sharp, outfielder; and South Alabama transfer Eric Shortell, outfielder.
The three will take part in the Ban Johnson All-Star League Game Sunday morning at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, Mo., before the Royals’ game with the Texas Rangers.
Other Hornets competing in the league are shortstop Andy Anderson, pitcher Aaron Burris and outfielder Michael Sickinger.
