Orders for Angel Food may be placed beginning Thursday at Grace United Methodist Church, Emporia Presbyterian Church, and First Church of the Nazarene.
The $25 food box will include four 8-ounce lean hamburger steaks, a 1.5-pound boneless pork filet, 1.25-pound turkey pot roast, 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts, 1 pound fully cooked meatballs, 10 4-ounce beef and bean burritos, 32-ounces of shelf-stable milk, 11 ounces of breakfast cereal, a 6.5-ounce beef stroganoff dinner, 1 pound of pasta, 26 ounces of pasta sauce, 1 pound of green beans, 8 ounces of pancake mix, 1 pound of rice, 10.5 ounces of beef gravy, 2 pounds of fresh potatoes and one dessert item.
Three different types of bonus boxes of meat may be purchased with a standard box order. Cost of the bonus boxes is $18 each. Box No. 1 includes 5.5 pounds of T-bone steaks, beef back ribs, Italian sausage and pork chops; Box No. 2 has four pounds of rib eye steaks; and Box No. 3 has 10 pounds of chicken, including boneless, skinless chicken breasts, breaded filets, tenders, popcorn chicken, patties and breaded frying chicken.
The Nazarene Church, 2931 W. 24th Ave., will take orders from 2 to 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July. Distribution will be on Aug. 11 from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
Orders at Emporia Presbyterian Church, 802 Commercial St., will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Distribution will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 11 at Spic ’N’ Span Cleaners, Fourth Avenue and Merchant Street.
At Grace United Methodist Church, 2 Neosho St., orders will be taken from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Thursday and Saturday, July 28 and from 2 to 6 p.m. on Friday. Distribution will be made from 10 a.m. to noon on Aug. 11.
Food that is not picked up at the designated time will be donated to others in need.
Payment, which must be made in advance, can be in cash, money orders or food stamp cards. No personal checks are accepted.
