Greenwood County
This year’s Greenwood County Fair, beginning July 27 and running until July 30, will offer many traditional events and attractions.
The Madison News reported that the carnival this year will include inflatable recreational activities due to traditional carnival equipment being hard to secure. The inflatables will be free to youngsters.
Other events include kid identification kits by the sheriff’s department; Farm Bureau sponsored scavenger hunt; magical comedy by Rex Getz; “How the West was Fun” activity time for children age 2 to 7; Farm Bureau Pedal Power tractor pull; pancake feed; and 4-H Livestock sale.
Greenwood County
The Greenwood County Sheriff’s Department made a large marijuana bust recently northwest of Eureka. The Madison News reported that Detective Pat Romans and K-9 Deputy Rusty Bitler were the lead officers on the case. The bust resulted in more than $45,000 worth of pot. Three arrests were made after the find.
Robert Linder, 70, David Ware, 63, and Robert Ware, 64, all were arrested on drug charges. The Sheriff’s department received an anonymous tip that led to the arrests.
