If you haven’t had an opportunity to help save the Americus city pool yet, Saturday is your chance. The day is packed with loads of activities from food to fun.
Saturday’s events will take place at Jones Park in Americus and will kick off with an eight-team softball tournament. If you get hungry, Iron Hog BBQ, Tropical Sno and “The Lemonade Lady” will be set up. Proceeds will be donated to the Save the Pool Fund. At 6 p.m., there will be an old-fashioned ice-cream social in the park with proceeds also going to the pool fund.
The pool will be open from 1 to 5 p.m. The day will be capped off with a special night swim from 8 to 10 p.m. The cost of the night swim is $5.
Saturday’s live music will be provided by D.J. Terry.
In addition to the events, raffle tickets can be purchased for a two-night stay at the Great Wolf Lodge as well as other items. Prices are one ticket for $5 or three tickets for $10.
