Son is recovering

IN EARLY JUNE, an Emporia Gazette news item explained the injuries our son, Ryan, experienced in a bicycle race in Oregon. We are pleased to report the hospital has dismissed him. Ryan is receiving short-term outpatient therapies, and his prognosis is excellent. His doctors cautioned us it will be a year before they can make a final medical judgment, but we believe he will make a full recovery.
We would like to thank those who sent cards and messages that lifted his spirits. We also thank those who offered prayers that guided his recovery. We appreciate the neighbors and friends who took care of our home for three weeks with the assurances not to worry, as they would take care of everything.
