Fatality accident
An Osage City man died late Wednesday night in a rollover accident on Kansas Highway 31, about four miles west of US Highway 75.
According to information from Osage County Sheriff Laurie Dunn, Dwight V. Brechisen, 50, apparently was driving west on K-31 when he lost control of the vehicle, which overturned and came to rest on its top.
Brechisen was dead at the scene of the accident, which is under investigation by Dunn’s office. Osage County Fire District No. 2, Osage City Police Department, Kansas Highway Patrol and the ambulance service responded to the call.
Horse owners sought
Osage County Sheriff Laurie Dunn is asking for assistance in locating the owner or owners of six horses located in southwest Osage County in the area of 277th and Davis roads.
The animals seem to have been on pasture for an extended period of time and are in poor condition.
The small herd is made up of a sorrel male, two gruello or dun mares, a bay with a limp and two dark brown or black yearlings of unknown genders. The sorrel male seems to be a Thoroughbred and the remainder seem to be quarter horse crosses.
Anyone who has information about ownership of the horses is asked to call the Osage County Sheriff’s office at (785) 828-3121 as soon as possible.
