The Emporia U-16 Energy swept a home doubleheader Tuesday night, taking 9-4 and 7-2 victories over Neosho Valley at Whittier Park.
Chris Zumbrum led Emporia in Game One, starting the game with a triple and finishing with two runs scored.
Hannah Lynch added a 2-for-2 performance with two RBI, while Carrie Zornes also contributed a single and double.
Lynch took the Game One victory in the circle.
In the nightcap, the Energy rolled behind the solid pitching of Cassandra Huth. She allowed just two hits and two unearned runs while striking out seven.
Zumbrum once again was an offensive highlight with two hits and two runs scored. Lauren Kimble chipped in two doubles, Lenae Wells had two hits and an RBI and Lynch posted a triple and four RBI.
The U-16 team (12-15) will play at a tournament in Derby this weekend before playing host to the State ASA Tournament in Emporia on July 21-22.
