Morse Annex
Former residents of the Morse Hall Annex on the Emporia State University campus met at the Emporia home of Leona Hargadine Travis on June 16. Naomi Dickson Snyder assisted the hostess.
The Annex was an honorary house for 16 college girls voted to live without a housemother; the house sat on the northeast side of the campus near the bell, Silent Joe. The women had not been together since 1947.
Members and husbands who attended were Grace Selvy Sebert of Raymore, Mo.; and Lee and Peggy Block Doyen of Concordia, Rob and Ann Robinson Robson of Abilene, Melvin and Delia Sturdy Handkins of Overland Park, John and Eula Page Nace of Minneapolis, Phyllis Leroux Spade of Wichita, the hostesses and Bill Snyder of Emporia.
Reading High School
The Reading High School Alumni Banquet was held June 2 at the Reading school gymnasium. The class of 1962 was the host for the approximately 125 alumni who attended. Anna Mochamer, former teacher and 1932 graduate, was honored and presented a bouquet. The class of 1957 celebrated their 50th reunion; 1947, their 60th. Three members of the class of 1957, Phil Reaka, Art Haag and Jack Blow, gave a humorous presentation of memories of their school days. Jon Sapp, class of 1962, was presented a gift for traveling the longest distance. All alumni participated in a “Name That Tune” program with music from the decades of the 1930 through the 1970s. The class of 1963 will be host for the 2008 banquet.
Van Sickle family
Forty descendants of John and Anna Van Sickle attended the Van Sickle reunion and basket lunch on June 10 at the Jones Park. Hazel Gilbert, 93, is the last surviving sibling of the nine children.
Family photos were taken and old photo albums were reviewed during the afternoon.

Colglazier family
The Colglazier family reunion was held May 27 at Gary Colglazier’s pond west of Hartford. The reporter said, “The day was full of fun with swimming, fishing, hay rack rides, paddle boating, a three-mile hike, games for the kids and, of course, plenty of visiting and eating.”
Attending from out of state were Edwin and Rosalie Christy, Rick, Lori, Bailey and Jordyn Christy and Roger Christy of Nebraska; Ralph and Pat Wright of California; Randy Christy of Minnesota; Tex and Linda Stasiulis and Mark and Parker Stasiulis of Wisconsin; Ron Phillips of Arkansas; Juanita Phillips of North Carolina; and Clinton Yeager of Oklahoma.

Weaver family
Descendants of Waldo and Alta Weaver held a reunion June 24 at Hammond Park.
Those attending were Cora Adams, Cindy Arndt, J.D. and Debbie Weaver, Jesse Weaver and Dallas Weaver, all of Emporia; Jerry and Shirley Weaver and Glen Coats, wife and children, of Admire; Tim and Laura Wyrick and Susan Weaver of Kansas City, Kan.; and Lena Wyrick of Waverly.
The next reunion will be at the same location the last Sunday in June 2008.
