Since “fireworks season” opened Wednesday, several more fireworks stands have been brought to The Gazette’s attention. This is the newest list we have.
Boomtown
Run by: Marty Barber of Pittsburg
Location: Just north of U.S. 50 on Americus Road.
Hours: Usually 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Chaffain’s Fireworks
Run by: Karen Chaffain
Location: 117 W. Exchange St., Hartford
Hours of operation: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
JC Freedom
Run by: Julie Young and Carol Lang
Location: Emporia RV Park & Campground, 4601 W. U.S. 50.
Hours of operation: Roughly 8 a.m. until 10 p.m., depending on customer traffic.
Kaboomers
Run by: Jamie and Angela Bonnema
Location: Just north of U.S. 50 on Americus Road
Hours: 8 a.m. until 10 p.m.
Kelly Wholesale Fireworks
Run by: Bob Kelly
Location: 1303 S. Kansas Highway 99
Hours of operation: 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Riley’s Fireworks Outlet
Run by: Tom Riley
Location: On Road 175, five miles east of the Casey’s on East Sixth Avenue.
Hours of operation: 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., depending on customer traffic.
Stars and Stripes
Run by: Jim Sholin
Location: Half a mile north of Council Grove on Kansas Highway 177.
Hours of operation: 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
T&R Fireworks
Run by: Amy Phillips
Location: Two stands. One is a mile north of 12th Avenue and Burlingame Road and supports the Riverside 4-H Club in Miller. The other is at The Orchard at the junction of Kansas Highway 99 and the Allen Road.
Hours of operation: The Burlingame Road stand is open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. through Wednesday. The K-99 stand is open from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on the Fourth.
T-N-T Fireworks
Run by: First United Methodist Youth
Location: South of the Prairie Street bridge, across the street from the Lyon County Highway Department
Hours of operation: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. today and then 10 a.m. to midnight Tuesday and Wednesday.
Uncle Sam’s Fireworks
Run by: Eric Garrett of Lyndon
Location: North of U.S. 50 on the Americus Road
Hours of operation: 8 a.m. to midnight
