Emporian gets 17 months for attempted burglary

Wednesday, January 31, 2007

An Emporian was sentenced to prison on Friday by District Court Judge Phillip M. Fromme in Burlington.

Yancy McLean, 22, was sentenced to 17 months in prison after his Dec. 7 conviction for attempted aggravated burglary.

Coffey County Attorney Doug Witteman said that the crime was committed in August and charges were filed on Nov. 2, after an extensive investigation by the Coffey County Sheriff’s office.

McLean was on parole at the time he attempted to enter the victim’s residence and left threatening notes, according to a news release from Witteman’s office.
