Finalists for the job of Emporia’s city manager should be arriving in town around the week of Feb. 12, Mayor Jim Kessler said Wednesday.
Those finalists have not yet been chosen from the nine applicants remaining. City commissioners discussed those applicants Wednesday in a closed-door teleconference with consultant Chuck Anderson.
Of the nine, five have Kansas connections and two have either a past or present connection with Emporia. No names have been released.
Once a date has been set and the candidates have been announced, the whole group of finalists will be brought to Emporia for a two-day visit. Face-to-face interviews with the commission will take place at that time.
