Fort Hays State
Three area students were on the Dean’s Honor Roll for the fall semester at Fort Hays State University.
They are: Heather Hapes, Americus; William Kline, Council Grove; and Jamie Zimmerman, Alta Vista.
Eligibility is based on being enrolled in 12 or more credit hours and maintaining a minimum 3.6 grade-point average for the semester.
Americus
A and B Honor Roll students were recognized recently at the Honors Assembly for the second quarter at the Americus School.
Those on the A Honor Roll are: Taylor Harmon, Alex Larson, Gail Lee, Katelyn Zornes, Arissa Moyer, Kimberly Smith, Jacob Beck, Brittney Harmon, Taylor Heins, and Luke Larson.

Elementary students who received character trait (kindness) awards for December were: Tyler Parnell and Chandler Myers, kindergarteners; Andrea Anderson and Kortney Wilmore, first grade; Jessica Clements, Sam Kehoe, second; Abby Doudna, Connor Cottenmyre and Taryn Meyers, third; Lily Alvarez and Cameron Hendricks, fourth; Heather Ankerholz and Mallory Burton.
Academic awards were presented to: Emily Centlivre and Allie Houston, kindergarten; Avery Lupkes and Brandon Wiebe, first grade; Jeffery Garcia-Adame, Jalaine King and Cheyanna Kluth, second; Austin Anderson and Abby Doudna, third; Bryan Crippen and Justin Johnson, fourth; and Erin Lewis and Lakota Preisner, fifth.
The ACE/STAR award winner for January is Jordan Hill.
Reading
Reading School honored students for state academic achievement during halftime of a basketball game earlier this month.
Those who received the Certificate of Outstanding Academic Achievement in math were: Megan French, Savannah Cox, Sadie Goff, Zach Protheroe, Erik Shaw, Sydney DeLong, Payton DeLong, Mark Hanks, Jenna Ferguson, Brandon McGee, Sierra Taylor, Allison Siler, Alisha Copple, Jordan Cox, Shawn McGee, Justin Richardson and Kristen Siler.
Students who received Certificates for Outstanding Academic Achievement in reading were: Megan French, Lindsee Colglazier, Payton DeLong, Mark Hanks, Jenna Ferguson, Sierra Taylor, Allison Siler, Alisha Copple, and Kristen Siler.
The certificates were a result of achievements on the State Assessment Tests.
Honor Rolls have been announced for the second nine weeks at Reading School.
