Join Golden Key
Kansas State University’s chapter of Golden Key, an international honor society, has selected Emporian Erin Bachman, a junior in public relations, and Amanda Collier of Council Grove, a senior in sociology, as new members.
Golden Key recognizes and encourages scholastic achievement and excellence in all undergraduate fields of study. Membership is by invitation only and eligibility is limited to the top 15 percent of junior and senior students.
On dean’s list
Andrea Ohlman, a senior from Emporia was included on the Dean’s Honor Roll at Bethany College in Lindsborg for the fall semester. Ohlman is majoring in history/political science.
Honored at Washburn
Washburn University in Topeka has released the names of students who were named to the fall semester President’s Honor Roll. To be named to the list, the students listed below were enrolled in at least 12 graded semester credit hours and attained a semester grade point average of 4.0.
Area students honored were Patricia Ann Stark of Allen, Casey Horton of Council Grove, Chelsea B. Ginn, Johanna S. Peterson, Andrew R. Roland and Jackie L. Weatherholt of Emporia, Shirley L. Matile and Bryon T. Rosine of Lebo; and Stephanie D. Staufenberg of Osage City.
Bethel scholarship
Andrew Wiederholt, son of Janel and Patrick Wiederholt, of Hartford has been awarded the President’s Academic Scholarship from Bethel College in North Newton for the 2007-08 academic year. The scholarship is valued at $32,000 over a four-year period. Wiederholt is a senior at Hartford High School.
Academic scholarships at Bethel are based on high-school grade point average and college entrance exams.
