The Rotary Club meets at noon at the Emporia Country Club, 18th Avenue and Rural Street.

The Junto Study Club meets for their annual Franklin Day High Tea at the home of Mary Shepherd, where she will be assisted by the officers.
The Literary League meets lunch, with arrangements made by Merle Peterson and Ann Riggs. The roll call will be “A goal for the New Year.” Bernice Kelly will give the program, “Emporia Historic Quilt.”

P.E.O. Chapter GT celebrates Founders Day, using the theme of “Our String of Pearls.” They will meet at the Emporia Presbyterian Manor with Merle Peterson and Helen Kassens serving as hostesses. Co-hostesses will be Dorothy Brinkman, Helen Conard, Fern Garrison, LuJean Krause and Grace Lowder. Mary Sue Wade will give the program, “Vintage Gems.” Special guests will be all the P.E.O. members who live at the manor.
P.E.O. Chapter DI meets at noon at the First United Methodist Church, with Carolyn Perry serving as hostess and Barb Jensen, co-hostees. Megan Evans will give the program, Founders Day. Jensen will give the project report about the education loan fund.
Saturday
The Emporia Airport Action Group meets every Saturday at approximately 9:30 a.m. in the main terminal at the Emporia Municipal Airport for “hanger talk,” coffee and doughnuts. Those attending are “free to move about” the airport.

The Friends of the Library Celebration will be at 2:30 p.m.
