The first in a series of “Eggs and Issues” forums will open at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Sauder Alumni Center, 1500 Highland St. The forums last approximately one hour.
Coffee and rolls will be served from 8 to 8:30 a.m. Hosts for the event will be the Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce and the Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The three political forums are organized annually by the chamber’s legislative committee and the League of Women Voters. Legislators update community members on current events and issues pertinent to their districts, and the audience is encouraged to ask questions, talk about concerns and suggest ideas for legislation.
Other forums are planned on Feb. 24 at Emporia Presbyterian Manor and on March 24 at the Flint Hills Technical College.
