AFTER FOUR MONTHS of work, the United Way of the Flint Hills’ fund-raising campaign will come to an end Thursday. As drive chair, it has been a rewarding experience to help raise money for 23 local social service agencies.
This campaign is not so much about the United Way as about the agencies that will receive the funds from our community’s generous donations. All the agencies that get funded fill important social-service roles in our community.
Everyone who contributed to the campaign deserves a thank-you. From large and small donations, every penny helped.
The campaign would not have been possible without the legion of volunteers who hit the streets delivering fund-raising information, and they, also, deserve a big thank you.
This year we tried many new things. While some were successful, other ideas could be refined for the future.
The dollar amount raised will be presented Thursday at United Way’s annual meeting luncheon.
Until then, we want to thank everyone who helped and contributed to the campaign.
Your generosity has made our community a better place.
