Americus council
The Americus City Council will have a business meeting at 7 p.m. today in city hall.
The agenda includes a review of the hazard-mitigation plan with Lyon County and a proposal to sell the old water tank. A proposed new noise ordinance is expected to be passed.
Board of education
Emporia school board member Jeffry Larson is expected to resign Wednesday evening during a board meeting at Mary Herbert Learning Center. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m.
Larson recently was appointed district judge, to fill a vacancy created by the retirement of Judge John Sanderson. The board is expected to issue a vacancy notice to replace Larson.
Other items on the agenda include staff appointments and resignations, approval of donations to various district programs, and consideration of a national trip by the Emporia High School orchestra.
Board meetings are open to the public.
Osage City Education
Three executive sessions and several reports are scheduled for the Osage City Board of Education meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the board office.
The executive session topics will be about negotiations, personnel matters of non-elected personnel, and a matter relating to actions that could adversely or favorably affect a student, to protect the student’s privacy rights.
