Emporia State University is among the best values in the country for a college education, according to the Princeton Review.
The publication listed ESU among 150 colleges on the “best value” list, which also included the University of Kansas, Kansas State University and the University of St. Mary in Leavenworth. No Kansas school made the top 10, although two Missouri schools did: Westminster College in Fulton and Truman State University in Kirksville.
To make the list, schools are rated on academics, student borrowing, financial aid availability and “Tuition GPA” — the average student’s tuition after grants and scholarships are taken out. Of the 150 colleges and universities that made the list, 103 are public schools and 47 are private ones.
The top value school, according to the Review, was New College of Florida in Sarasota, followed by North Carolina State University in Raleigh, California State University at Long Beach, Truman State University, the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, the University of North Carolina at Asheville, the University of Virginia at Charlottesville, Texas A&M University at College Station, the University of California at Berkeley and the University of Oklahoma at Norman.
