COTTONWOOD FALLS — Jordan Stout, a senior at Madison High School, has verbally committed to play basketball at Emporia State.
The 6-foot-2 guard made the announcement following Madison’s 46-42 win against Chase County Friday night.
Stout said he gave his verbal agreement to ESU basketball coach David Moe on Tuesday.
“I committed on Tuesday,” Stout said, “but I’ve been talking to them for a couple weeks,”
Stout also was being recruited by the ESU football program during the football season, when he was both a quarterback and defensive back for the Sub-State champion Bulldogs.
“I think I’m going to be happy there,” Stout said.
Stout won’t have to change much of his wardrobe when he graduates. Madison’s school colors are the same as ESU’s: black and gold.
“I’m happy to still be wearing black and gold,” Stout said.
Shawn Herrman, a former ESU standout forward, is currently an assistant coach at Madison.
