ESU matches best start in school history

Washburn's Reed Hein had a 28-foot shot at the buzzer glance off the front rim as ESU held on for an 80-77 victory Wednesday night.
DeAndre Townsend had 23 points and Donta Watson had 17 points for ESU.
Washburn ended the first half on a 12-0 run. ESU did not score in the final five minutes of the half.
ESU began the second half on a 12-2 run, led by five points apiece by Wes Book and Caleb Tegtmeier.
The Hornets led 68-58 with 6:33 remaining, but the Ichabods used an 8-0 run to make the score 68-66 with 4:06 left.
