Americus Township Library
The library will be closed from January 8-13 for a redecorating project. The walls will be painted a new color.
When the library re-opens on January 16, everyone is encouraged to look over the new color and to check out some of the new books which are now on the shelf.
Some of the new titles are: Title Towns-Class BB Boys Basketball Champions of Kansas 1952-1968 by Steven Michael Farney; Hannibal Rising by Thomas Harris; H.R.H. by Danielle Steele; Hundred Dollar Baby by Robert Parker; Flight Aircraft of World Wars I and II by Francis Crosby; Bryson City Secrets, Bryson City Tales and Bryson City Seasons all by Walter L. Larimore M.D.
Serve It Forth - Cooking With Anne McCaffrey; Taste of Home Big Book of Soup recipes; and the Pillsbury Annual Recipes for 2006 which includes the Pillsbury bake-off winners.
Two new DVDs available for check-out are Over the Hedge and Ice- Age 2-The Melt Down.
Pre-school story time will begin on January 18, 10 a.m.
All ages are welcome even though the focus is on the pre-school age. The group will make Kansas Day crafts on January 25.
The library is located at 710 Main Street and the hours are Mon., Tue., Wed,. and Fri. 1 p.m. -5:30 p.m.
Thur. 9 a.m.- 7 p.m., Sat. 9 a.m. -5 p.m.

Americus Chamber of Commerce
The annual meeting will be held January 29, 6 p.m. in the annex of the United Presbyterian Church, 557 Broadway, Americus.
The next chamber meeting will be held January 6, 7:30 a.m., in the USD #251 meeting room.
Everyone is welcome to attend and memberships will be available.
