One taken to hospital following accident downtown

One woman was taken to Newman Regional Health after an accident Monday afternoon at Sixth Avenue and Merchant Street.

Janet Nab Laurent, 57, was driving north on Merchant when her Hybrid collided with an eastbound Chevrolet Suburban driven by Jacqueline R. Cole, 40, of Strong City.

Laurent was taken by ambulance to Newman for treatment.
